Celiac disease diet

A proper diet is the single most important treatment for this condition. You will need to eliminate all foods containing gluten from your diet.

Foods containing gluten include

Ice cream, ice cones, baby cereal, biscuits infant formula,

bread, breakfast cereal, pasta cakes and cake mixes,

pancakes, pancake syrup, pudding mix, noodles, cookies,

frankfurter, malted and powdered milk,

whipped cream substitutes, crackers, wheat flour,

salad dressings, potato chips, wheat, rye and barley.

More foods and product that may include gluten -

Croutons, dispersing agents, imitation bacon, imitation seafood, marinades, preservatives, gravies, packaged foods, and excipients ((added to prescription medications).

Gluten food list is very long, so do your possible best to get just a few on the list.

Oats that are mass produced can be contaminated with gluten. Oats that are pure whole grain, rolled, or steel cut, can be eaten.

Consider a lactose-free diet, because diary and lactose are common allergens that can mimic gluten sensitivities in people with celiac disease.

Vitamins and supplements

Other common deficiencies are essential fatty acids, vitamin D, Vitamin K, iron, calcium, magnesium, folic acid and zinc.

400 mcg of folic acid – once a day

50 mg of zinc – 2 times a daywith 1-2 mg of copper a day

100 mg of iron per day. Lower dosage as deficiency is resolved.

1,000 IU of vitamin D a day

60 mcg of vitamin K a day

1,000 of calcium (citrate or malate) a day with 400 mg of magnesium citrate.

Consider taking probiotic that includes sachromyces boullardii, and bifidus species daily to restore good bacteria flora to the gut.

Herbs such as mallow roots help improve intestinal lining. Flax oil and fish oil help to relieve inflammation from celiac disease.

It is important to accompany these supplement remedies with celiac disease diet.

Homeopathic remedies

The following remedies may give temporary relief while seeking professional advice and treatment with celiac disease diet.

Nux vomica: If you pass stool frequently but your bowel movement feels incomplete, try using the recommended dosage of nux vomica.

Lycopodium: If acidity, bloating, and gas, causes your digestive tract to be disordered, lycopodium is recommended for that.

Carl carb: This remedy is helpful for people with sluggishness especially in the digestive tract. The sluggishness lead to frequent indigestion, burping with an unpleasant sour taste in the mouth.

Juicing – celiac disease diet

Date and fig juices

Dates and figs contain unique protein carbohydrate complexes and mineral salts which stop an abnormal response started by gluten in the small intestine. This response can lead to an overproduction of white blood cells.

Method of preparation

Rinse out some pitted dates and juice them with the water on them. Treat the figs the same way, but cut off their stems before juicing.

Date and figs are incredibly sweet, so dilute the concentrate with carrot juice. Do not consume more than one-half cup of straight date-fig concentrate at one time.

Caution: this remedy has too much natural sugars for people with blood sugar problems, like diabetes, and hypoglycemia.
