Avoid gas producing foods such as poor-quality-bread, cabbage, broccoli, peppers, onions, pickles, beans and legumes.
You might want to cut out wheat at least for a week, and also eliminate gassy drinks.
Stay away from sugar in all its form, including dietary sugar such as sorbitol and fructose.
Sugar destroys the balance of good bacteria in the gut.
Restrict highly seasoned foods such as spicy sauces, over-salted foods and chili, because they can irritate the gut.
Saturated fat foods found in animals and dairy foods are a common trigger for IBS symptoms.
It stimulates contractions in the gastrointestinal tract, which can lead to cramping and diarrhea.
Your best choice is to stick to low fat diet for IBS
If you have long standing abdominal distress, diarrhea and pain, always rule out milk first, before going for IBS diagnosis.
Stay away from any food or drinks that have caffeine. They instigate IBS.
