    Apply raw crushed garlic under and over the nail 3 times a day for 2 weeks. You may also use garlic gel from health food store, which is less repulsing.

    Ajoene is an organosulfur compound found in garlic with powerful anti fungal properties just like over-the-counter medication.

    Look for a gel that contains 1 percent ajoene, and apply it 2 times a day for one week.

    Tea tree oil for toenail fungus

    Cut down your nails carefully, and wash the feet with soap especially the one made from tea tree oil. Apply 25 – 100 percent strength tea tree oil solution or cream deep under your nails as much as you can.

    Repeat the remedy 2 – 3 times daily until the infection is cleared up. Excessive application can lead to dermatitis, so apply it moderately.

    Calendula home remedy for toenail fungus

    One of the potent toenail fungus home remedies is calendula. Apply calendula tincture or gel on and under the nail.

    It has been shown to be effective in treating fungal infections. Reactions to candela are very rare but there may be an occasional allergic reaction.

    Cloves treatment for toenail fungus

    Cloves have antifungal properties when applied topically. Use clove oil or salve on the affected area several times daily. Some people may feel nasal or vaginal irritation with this remedy.

    Oregano oil for treating toenail fungus

    Oregano oil is strong and powerful. Rub the oil on the nail several times throughout the day. Also drink 3-5 drops of the oil diluted in water 2-3 times a day. If you are allergic to plants in the mint family, do not take this remedy.

    Vinegar for toenail fungus cure

    Soak your infected toenail in 2 parts water to 1 part distilled white vinegar 2 times a day for 15 minutes, or apply full strength vinegar to the nail twice a day.

    Indian toenail fungus home remedies

    Gram and honey: Grind a tablespoon of black gram and add little water to make a paste. Add ½ teaspoon of honey to make a sticky mixture. Apply it under the toenail consistently for treatment.

    Cluster beans: The leaves of this plant make an effective medicated paste. Mix together a teaspoon each of fresh cluster beans leaves, lime juice, and ginger pate, and apply into the fungus infected nail.

    General home remedies for toenail fungus

    Expose your feet to the open air as often as possible.

    Keep feet clean and dry.

    Use cotton socks so that your feet can have breathing space, and change your socks daily.

    Avoid wearing tight fitting shoes.

    Dry feet thoroughly after washing.

    Do not walk barefoot in public places.
